SUPPORT TO LOCAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

City Municipality of Palilula is between 12 Municipalities in Serbia chosen, by the end of last year for technical support in the process of making of Action Plan within component Municipal planning of Project MSP IPA 2007. Support to the development of the project concept except to the Nis` Palilula Municipality, is offered and to the municipalities: Kanjiza, Kula, Koceljeva, Ub, Topola, Paracin, Trstenik, Raska, Bojnik, Vlasotince, Trgoviste and to the cities Uzice and Novi Pazar.

On this occasion, after a study visit of Prof. Dr Nicolas Miles, coordinator of Municipal planning (GTZ), in City Municipality of Palilula it was held first meeting of Working group. Representatives of GTZ, Jelena Mihajlovic – Tanasijevic and Slavka Zupan and members of Municipal team: Boban Mikic, Ljubisa Jakovljevic, Milos Stojadinovic, Nenad Pavlovic, Ana Stojkovic, Dragan Terzic and Milan Nikolic discussed the methodology of making of Action Plan SLOR for CM Palilula, which would rely on Municipal Strategy Plan of Development and Strategy of Development of City of Nis. Through component Municipal planning Project intends to strengthen and support the implementation of these strategies. In project cycle from nine to twelve months, will be realized concrete agreement and analysis of needs of environment about things that will be done. Then will be conceived Action Plan and ten projects which will be base for further discussions with potential donors.

Within the Program of support to the Municipalities IPA 2007 – “Good Administration, Planning and Providing Services”, implemented by consortium of GTZ – International Services in cooperation with Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SKGO) and Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self Government and financed by European Union, for development of sectoral plans it is approved to the 15 local self governments and for support of development of action plans to the 12 local self governments. Realization of project began in January 2010 and it will be completed in January 2013. Project represents part of long term technical assistance and support of Fund of grant to the development of Municipalities in Serbia.
